Nominations for Deacons to serve the church family are now being received.  Deacons serve by meeting various ministry needs that arise from month to month, regularly assisting with care for members of our church family, administering the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper, and prayer for and with our church and pastors. As you prayerfully consider, please take note of the scriptural qualifications of Deacons found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. 

Below you find a list of men who meet the initial qualifications for nomination according to our by-law requirements. They must be members of our church for at least two years, a Christian for at least three years and age 25 or older. Those nominated will complete a questionnaire that addresses questions related to doctrinal beliefs, their devotional life, their walk with Christ, and their support of the local church. The questionnaires are reviewed by current Deacons and recommendations are made then to the church family for election. If you are a member of WFBC, you may nominate up to 4 men by submitting their names through the link below or the form at the bottom of the page. You may also drop those off at the church office during the week. All nominations are due by September 30th. If you notice a name that has been left off, or you want to remove your name from consideration, please let us know by emailing julie@watkinsville.org.
