MIDDLE SCHOOL

We know middle school is a big step for a student. They are in a new building, have new teachers, and are making new friends. They are also facing new challenges: friendship dynamics, school work, sports, technology, all of these things begin fighting for a student’s attention with new intensity. It’s during this season that we get to come alongside a middle school student and help them become a wholehearted follower of Christ. It is during the middle school years that we want to help develop the roots of a student’s faith, to build a foundation of faith that will carry them into high school and beyond.

Colossians 2:6-7 says, "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

We believe discipleship is an important element of helping students become wholehearted followers of Christ. In Watty Students, this discipleship happens through D-Groups.

D-Groups are groups of 3-5 students of the same grade and gender and a leader. This group commits to reading scripture throughout the week, keeping H.E.A.R. journals, praying for one another, and meeting weekly to discuss what they are learning. Our middle school D-Groups meet on Wednesday nights from 6-7:30pm.

Watty Wednesday is for our middle schoolers! We meet every Wednesday from 6-7:30pm in the student center for pizza, games, and for our middle school D-Groups. We hope your middle schooler will join us for Watty Wednesday!
