WATTY COLLEGE TRIBES

+ What is a tribe?

Tribes are groups of 5-15 college students who meet weekly to pray together, build community, and follow Christ together.

+ What does a normal tribe meeting look like?

The formal part of a tribe meeting will last for one hour and be devoted to praying with one another. You will hear a devotion and then be led through rounds of prayer for global gospel work and for the specific members of your Tribe. Each week might look a little different, but the focus will remain the same. Before and after our prayer time together, we will spend time building relationships and getting to know each other. Tribes are the main vehicle for cultivating relationships and community in our college ministry.

+ Prayer

This is the driving force behind tribes. We aim to imitate the early church and be "devoted to prayer." We call out to God weekly to work both in Athens and globally.

+ Tribe Values

  • Welcoming. Religious and the non-religious are welcome.
  • Open. Tribes are open for new members throughout the year.
  • Student-Led. College students fill all the major roles of tribes.
  • Expectation. There is excitement about what God will do.
  • Prayer. This is the focus of tribes.
  • Scripture. Everything we do will be based on God’s Word.
  • Multiplication. As tribes grow, they will multiply so that more people can enjoy access to these groups.

+ Expectation

There is excitement about what God can do in response to our prayers!
